Our Partners

Theatre Prospero is seeking partner organizations to support artists sharing their stories with the students of Alberta. By becoming involved, you or your organization will help make productions, school residencies, and other works accessible to more audiences, students and schools. Help us to enable actors to spread their culture and stories to new audiences, and to deepen the wealth of Canada’s diversity.

“I believe in the north; but more than that, I’m a believer in our stories and our stories as a way to keep our culture living.” – Reneltta Arluk, Playwright

Actor, Director and writer Reneltta Arluk established Akpik Theatre itself in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, in 2008. Adhering to its Inuktitut namesake, the cloudberry, Akpik Theatre strives to flourish in the northern climate it reflects by developing stories of the circumpolar north, whether oral tradition or contemporary inspiration, into dynamic professional theatre scripts. Akpik mentors the development of Indigenous stories, within, but not limited to northern communities. It seeks to adapt these stories for live performance in storytelling or theatre formats and professionally presents northern and Indigenous scripts for local, national and international audiences.
